Sophomore Derrell Pascal had 10 points and 8 rebounds against Cle Elum
Taking advantage of a 28-5 second quarter the Zillah Leopards cruised to a 72-35 victory over Cle Elum to get back to .500 in SCAC West play. After suffering losses to Mabton (59-47) and Naches Valley (56-51) in their own gym, Zillah will head out on the road for league games that will prove to be key in District Tournament seeding. They will face Goldendale (9-2, 3-1 in SCAC West) on January 15th and Granger (8-0, 3-0 in SCAC West) on January 22nd.
Scott Riojas led Zillah in scoring against the Warriors with 18 points while dishing out 6 assists. Three other Leopards scored in double figures led by Tyler Seaman with 14, Marc Walker 11 & Derrel Pascal with 10.
Over the Christmas break the Leopards went 2-1 in non-league contests with victories over Lakeside (48-46) and Connell (62-55), their loss came to 2A Deer Park (55-42). The Leopards will play one more non-league contest on January 16th against White Swan.
