Wrestlers win Wapato Invite

Nathaniel Deardorf won the 215 lb. class at Pac Coast Championships

With two individual champions, four runners up and four 3rd place winners the Leopard wrestlers easily won the Wapato Invitational on Saturday. Chris Castillo was never challenged in the 160 lb. class and Kyle Kluever won the 171 lb. class. Cortez Hernandez (119), Skylor Davis (130),  Juan Nicolas (140) and Rodney Treece (152) were all runners-up. Jessy Gonzales (103), J.C. Arellano (135), Kane Koerner (189) and John Myers (285) all won third place.

The previous weekend in Vancouver, Zillah took 5th in a 32 team tournament filled with 4A and 3A schools. Two wrestlers won their brackets at the Pac Coast Championships Chris Castillo (152) and Nathaniel Deardorf (215).  Skylor Davis (130) and Kane Koerner (189) were both runners-up in that tournament.

The Leopard will make a rare appearance at home on Thursday (1/14) in a league match against Mabton.
